Why we exist:

In response to God’s love, grace and truth:

The Purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord:
growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture and God’s purposes in the world.

What we believe:

The Bible is unique, inspired by God and the authority in our lives.
Jesus Christ if fully God and fully man.
Jesus Christ gave up his life for our sins giving us right standing with God.
Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead.
The Holy Spirit is active in the work of empowering us to follow Christ.
We believe and expect that Jesus Christ will return.

What we offer:

InterVarsity offers you the space to grow in your faith, wherever you may be in your spiritual journey. You will have opportunities to deepen relationships with an ethnically diverse community while growing in your own ethnic identity. You can expect a safe space to wrestle with spiritual questions and expand your understanding of the good news of Christ to include personal and societal transformation.

Weekly meetings: Our first weekly meeting, 9/22/11 will be @ 7:30pm in Lazenby rm 21, all following Thursday nights @ 7:30pm in Campbell Hall rm 200. We will learn, worship and grow together in community through speakers, music, activities and more.

FX: Freshmen Experience: Connect with other freshmen for Bible study, community, and fun at Friday evenings at FX! Contact Mary Ann at maryajiang@gmail.com for more info!

International student group: A place for international students to connect, ask questions, and grow in their faith! Contact Lily at x.lilyliu@gmail.com for more info!

Arts student group: Art major, minor, or just really love the arts? Join a group of artists from all different disciplines learning together about what it means to be both a Christian and an artist. Wednesdays @6:30-7:30 rm TBA, contact Monique at shaffer.340@buckeyemail.osu.edu for more info!

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Ohio State is a family of chapters. You are currently on the Undergrad Chapter site, but we have two sister chapters whom we love and esteem highly. They are:

Whatever the reason, InterVarsity: Undergrad’s Weekly Meetings are the perfect place for you. Weekly Meetings are a chance for you to connect with others, to have space to reflect and worship, and to dig deeper into what God is trying to say to us through Scripture. They are place where we expect God to challenge us and grow us in what it means to be true disciples. And they are a place where all are welcome, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.

Come join us every week of Spring Quarter on Thursdays at 7:30 in Pomerene 306 (right above Mirror Lake Creamery).

Price of Life

On April 18th, the largest campaign against human trafficking Ohio State has ever seen will begin. The Price of Life Invitational is a week-long series of events and conversations engaging the campus and the Columbus community on the issue of human trafficking.

Did you know…

that there are over 27 million people in slavery today?
that there are more slaves in the world right now than there were in the sum of the trans-Atlantic slave trade?
that the human trafficking industry generates more than $42 billion a year?
that you can do something about it?

Bring your friends, bring your roommates and floormates, bring your coworkers and your student organizations and join us in the fight against human trafficking. Rally around the issue at Parade of Tears on April 18th, learn more about the issues involved from the experts at the Town Hall meeting on the 19th, and definitely come wrap up the week at the Price of Life Main Event on Thursday the 22nd.

Family Matters

This week we’re moving our usual thursday to tuesday… because we get to meet together with our sister chapters! At Family Matters, we’ll join together with Asian American InterVarsity and InterVarsity: Black Student Movement and celebrate both our uniqueness as God has created us, our oneness in the Kingdom and the importance of moving outside of our comfort zones for the sake of the nations.

What Do You See? [fall conference]

InterVarsity’s fall conference, What Do You See?, will explore the story of Samuel, Saul, David and Israel from I Samuel 16 and 17. We will look at scripture, spend time in worship and grow in prayer. You will also get to really dig into the lives of the other people in your chapter.

The conference runs from 6:00 friday night to 1:00 sunday afternoon and costs $110 if you register by October 20th, after which the price goes up to $130. If money is an issue, we have scholarships! For that or any other questions, come talk to or email Jeff or Rachel.

Children all over the world have been robbed of their childhoods. While most of us were and still are free to play, millions of children have been forced into slavery.

Join us to celebrate the freedom we do have, while remembering and supporting those who don’t. We will play games, remember our own childhoods and have the opportunity to support the International Justice Mission, a non-profit dedicated to fighting human trafficking.
